Scala dei Turchi

Scala dei Turchi has to be on your must see list. This white milestone staircase along the shore is a real piece of art!
It was made by the elements of nature and time. They call it the Turkish stairs because back in the day Arab pirates (Turks) anchored their boats here. The reason for this was to protect them from the wind, while they were robbing surrounding towns. This unique formation is close to Agrigento, which is famous of the valley of temples. Since it’s quite a long drive (150 km) from the kite spot, you can make a day trip out of it on a no wind day, and check both.
